Bullying is a major problem today, but it doesn’t have to be. It affects individuals of all backgrounds. According to the U.S. Department of Education in 2015, approximately 25 percent of students between the ages of 12 and 18 report being bullied at school. Bullying is a social phenomenon that often occurs in the presence of a peer audience. This means that most students have been involved in bullying from one perspective or another, whether being the bully, the one being bullied or as bystander.
Bullying is an aggressive/passive-aggressive intentional action, it is deliberately and methodically planned to harm and hurt another. Many experts on bullying define it as the use of force or coercion to abuse or intimidate others.
