Kali, MA, LPC

Founder, CEO, Licensed Professional Counselor

Hi! I’m happy you’re here! I’ve specialized in children’s mental health since 1997, and specifically in the Shenandoah Valley since 2009. I love working with children and families in the Winchester area; I know the future of the community lies in the mental health of our youth. I began this practice with the understanding of the importance of managing mental health early and often. My hope is to make mental health information accessible, easy to understand, and transparent to all.

I graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Psychology and Social Science, I earned my Masters Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, and am a board licensed professional counselor through the Commonwealth of Virginia.

As a lifelong learner, my free time is often spent reading up on current psychology research. When I’m not doing that, I am usually found practicing mindfulness, staying active, taking care of my own children, and creating new healthy recipes. My goal is to empower strength in all facets of life.

Board Approved Supervisor

I went into this field because I have always wanted to help kids and help families to navigate the complexities of mental health. I have found that working with adolescents has been extremely rewarding and beneficial for both the children I work with and their families. I have been in the human services field for over 8 years, earning my bachelors in Psychology from Shenandoah University and then completing my master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

My goal is to help my clients reach their goals. I want to help teach the youth and their families effective strategies for managing their mental health to achieve the things they know they can do.

Lacey, MA, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

I was born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley and count it an honor to serve the families of our community. I have been providing mental health services to youth across our area since 2009- in a variety of settings including the home, school, and private practice. I earned my Master of Arts from Liberty University in professional counseling and am board approved Licensed Professional Counselor through the Commonwealth of Virginia. One of my passions is working with families to help them have the tools they need to be successful. Life always has its struggles, but when we have the confidence and competence to face those challenges, we can learn and grow through them.

My passion for families starts right at home with my own. My husband, Stephen and I have two elementary-age children and we also have the privilege of welcoming other children into our home through foster care. I love spending time with my family adventuring in the beautiful outdoors, playing board games, and relaxing on the back porch. I also enjoy volunteering in our community as a soccer coach, Young Life leader, and children’s ministry teacher.

I am looking forward to meeting you and getting to be a part of your journey!

Steve, BS, MS

Director of Operations

My wife Kali and I co-founded this practice in 2016 because we have such passion to help the youth in our community. I have many years of experience working with the great young people of our area through volunteer coaching of soccer, cheerleading, and tennis. I also have been involved in various youth camps as a camp counselor. I have loved getting to know these free-spirited, humorous, unfiltered tiny adults throughout my experience with them. They are tougher and smarter than people typically give them credit for. As Director of Operations, my goal is to create a comfortable, effective, and consistent environment for the families that come to us for help. As a Veteran, I fully understand the importance of doing the hard work that keeps the family unit as strong as possible, no matter what adversity comes our way. I graduated from West Point as an Army officer with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science; from the Milwaukee School of Engineering with a Masters in Engineering Management; and from Liberty University with a Masters in Accounting. In my free time, you can find me reading about history or solving a puzzle. In life and in the office, my goal is to create solutions.
